A 23 year-old man who worked for an addiction treatment facility was charged in Missoula Justice Court with sexual intercourse without consent, after allegedly having sex with a 13 year-old patient.

According to court documents, Justin Griffith worked nights at Western Montana Addiction Services on Hays Drive. The victim, a 13 year-old girl, was in the center for chemical dependency and mental health issues. From March 21 through 23, Griffith and the victim entered into a sexual relationship.

The activity was reported to the management and the victim was taken to First Step, Court documents indicate that Griffith admitted having a relationship with the minor girl.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Matt Jennings asked Judge Karen Orzech for $50,000 bail.

"In light of these allegations, the State is asking for a bail of $50,000," Jennings said. "At this time we do not have a complete criminal history, but these accusations are serious enough as stated in the affidavit of probable cause. In the event he is released, the State is asking for standard conditions for sexual intercourse without consent."

Orzech set bail at $50,000, and Griffiths was returned to jail. His next court appearance will be April 9.
