Beware of Phony Bitterroot Wildfire Fundraisers
This is absolutely disheartening but it's been brought to the attention of our 5 radio stations that several phony Go Fund Me pages have been set up for Bitterroot wild fire and Roaring Lion fire relief.
One listener has informed us that she donated to a bogus online fundraiser that made away with more than $1,000 before it was shut down. Another one has also been identified as fake and states that the person who set up the page is no longer accepting donations although the page says just $735 of the $10k goal was raised.
If you would like to help with local wild fire relief, it is best to stop by any of the many businesses in the Bitterroot who are taking donations. In Missoula, the Fresh Market on Broadway is also accepting donations for the victims of the Roaring Lion fire.
