Missoula police are investigating the death of a man in his 20's whose body was found in an apartment on in the 1400 block of West Broadway early Tuesday morning.

Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said the call came in to 9-1-1 at about 2:40 a.m.

"We received a call from a man who said he had found his neighbor deceased in the neighbor's apartment," Welsh said. "Officers responded and did find a young man that was deceased with no signs of trauma on the body. The fact that he is in his mid 20's causes us some concern, because people in their 20's don't typically die of natural causes. So, we are investigating to see if this young man has been the victim of a crime. At this point, that has not been determined."

It is not known how long the body had been in the apartment before it was discovered. Welsh said the medical examiner and the Missoula County Coroner will determine the cause of death.

Sheriff's Office spokesperson Brenda Bassett said the coroner will release the man's name once the investigation is complete and the family has been notified.
