Following the resignation of Libby Oliver, the vice-principal deemed responsible for the December data breach at Missoula's Hellgate High School, a new administrative team has been appointed.

MCPS spokesperson Hatton Littman issued a press release on Tuesday afternoon detailing the appointments at Hellgate High School.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2016, Missoula County Public Schools Superintendent Mark Thane announced changes in the Hellgate High School Administrative team.

Effective immediately, Mrs. Hallie Koppang will serve as the Interim Assistant Principal. Mrs. Koppang is a health enhancement teacher at Hellgate High School and she has served as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for the past two school years.

Mr. Jeff Hays, Hellgate mathematics teacher and head boys basketball coach, will fill the role of Interim TOSA and Interim Athletic Director. Mr. Hays will continue to teach half time in the second semester of the 2015-16 school year.

Mrs. Lisa Hendrix, Ms. Lynn Farmer and Mrs. Koppang will divide the duties related to student discipline and staff evaluation.

The interim positions will be posted in the spring for all interested and qualified applicants.

The data breach, which occurred in December, included personal information about Hellgate students and some staff members. Oliver was charged with failure to follow best practices in data protection, and resigned from her post.
