Every year, 94.9 KYSS FM teams up with the Missoula community to present KYSSMAS for Kids, a on-air auction to raise money for local kids in need–giving presents to those children who would otherwise go without.

Very generous, caring local residents and businesses donate items that we auction off on the air Friday December 1, 2017 with 100% of the proceeds going to the kids shopping trip. This is a 13 hour “live call in event” where anything from hotel packages to car detailing is auctioned off. Each hour we will have featured donors on the air to tell us why KYSSMAS is important to them!

Participating children receive a $50 gift card, which they spend at a private shopping event near Christmas Day. It is very humbling to see school-aged children choosing to spend their gift cards on necessities such as bed sheets, cookware and clothing rather than toys. These kids are always so grateful!

The evening of our Live Auction we head over to the Sunrise Saloon, where a live band plays and we bring in any extra items to be auctioned off. Every single dollar goes to the kids!

Over the past 20 years the auction has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and has allowed as many as 600 kids, in just one of those years to participate. Local groups that we help include: Office of Public Assistance, St. Pat’s Mental Health Center, YWCA, Sanders County Coalition, LIGHT (Low Income Group for Human Treatment), AWARE, CDC, Seeley Lake School, many low income individuals who are not associated with a local non-profit and when funds allow, we include Big Sky High School, Hellgate High School and Sentinel High School.

It’s never to early to start thinking about KYSSMAS. For more information on how to donate to this year’s drive, please contact kyssmas@kyssfm.com or call 728-9300.
