Missoula Police were led on a high speed chase through the Rattlesnake neighborhoods where a man is alleged to have almost run over four pedestrians. Deputy Missoula County Attorney Amber Henning says the defendant, 32 year-old David Wozniak, was driving at least 60 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.

“He eventually went off the road into someone’s yard before putting his hands into the shape of a gun and threatened to kill himself,” said Henning. “The defendant refused to show both of his hands and the police released the K9 unit. The defendant kicked the dog in the face multiple times causing it to bleed. He then resisted officer’s efforts to arrest him and tried to bite them.”

According to Henning, a loaded syringe was found inside Wozniak’s vehicle and he had track marks all over his arm. He now faces multiple charges.

“Felony criminal endangerment, driving under the influence of a dangerous drug, fleeing or eluding police officers, resisting arrest, harming a police dog, driving while suspended or revoked, failure to carry proof of liability insurance, unlawful displace of factitious plates and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia,” Henning said.

Henning requested a $75,000 bond and the judge set bail at $50,000. Wozniak has a preliminary court hearing on January 24th.
