Just before the New Year, Misssoula Police arrested a man and charged him with felony burglary. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains exactly what happened.

“On December 28, 2018, at about 7:30 a.m., Missoula Police officers responded to the report of a man inside a building in the 100 block of North Higgins before they were set to be open,” Welsh said. “The officers responded, but the man had left the building before they arrived. They located him walking nearby and identified him as 48-year-old Chad Lobeck.”

According to Welsh, officers quickly discovered that Mr. Lobeck was up to no good.

“Mr. Lobeck was connected to a burglary that had occurred in this building where he was discovered and he was placed under arrest,” Welsh said. “We are currently in the process of investigating the possibility that Mr. Lobeck may also be responsible for other crimes that are similar and in the downtown area. We are asking for anyone that might have information to please give us a call.”

Welsh says anyone with information should contact Detective Stacy Lear at 552-6283.
