A little over a week ago, Missoula Police arrested a man for burglary. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers arrested that same man this weekend in the 800 block of East Front Street.

“Mr. Chad Lobeck is in custody again this morning after he was found in connection with a burglary reported Saturday the 5th,” Welsh said. “Information gathered at the scene during the initial investigation suggested that Mr. Lobeck was a suspect again. The officers were able to track him to a nearby motel, where they encountered him as well as some of the property that had been stolen in this latest burglary.”

Mr. Lobeck was arrested on December 28, 2018 for a previous burglary. At that time, Welsh says police were investigating the possibility that Lobeck was involved in other similar crimes in the area.

“We continued to do that,” Welsh said. “However, some cases have been referred to the Missoula County Attorney’s Office for consideration to prosecution and we are awaiting any other information that might come in to aid us in these other cases that he might be related to.”

According to Welsh, this most recent burglary took place at a bicycle shop in town.
