Southgate Mall & Osprey Fireworks Will Go On Despite County Ban
With the official announcements of bans on fireworks for the 4th of July weekend for Missoula and Ravalli counties, we are getting some questions on where you can still see fireworks displays.
The Southgate Mall in Missoula will still have their annual 4th of July celebration and fireworks this Saturday. The celebration will take place in the parking lot west of Bob Ward & Sons Sporting Goods and will conclude in a spectacular fireworks display that is Western Montana’s largest. The evening’s schedule will take place as follows:
9:00 pm Welcome
Remarks by emcees, KECI Anchors, Mark Heyka & Heidi Meili
Invocation
Presentation of Colors by Missoula VFW & Boy Scouts
National Anthem performed by MCT’s Next Step Prep
Amazing Grace performed on bagpipes by Rob Laing
Northwest MedStar helicopter lands
Missoula City Band performs
10:30 pm Fireworks display by Montana Display Fireworks
While waiting for the festivities and fireworks to begin, spectators can enjoy food and beverage concessions by Missoula Boy Scout Pack 1909. Community members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show from the parking lot.
The Missoula Osprey will also be allowed to go on with their second fireworks show of the season after their home game this Friday night, July 3rd.
Two exceptions on the fireworks ban in Ravalli County are the annual Hamilton public fireworks display at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds and the annual Florence fireworks display, both starting on Saturday at dusk.
