A big change in the weather is coming this week. Several major arctic fronts will be moving into northwestern Montana starting Wednesday, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Jen Kitzmiller.
The National Weather Service is predicting with moderate confidence for today that Western MT will experience strong and potentially damaging winds with an approaching cold front, with winds at 25 to 35 mph, gusting to 40 to 60-plus mph possible, peaking between 5pm-12am.
Meteorologist Corby Dickerson with the National Weather Service office in Missoula said on Tuesday that conditions in the western Montana mountains could worsen to the point that a Winter Storm Watch could be issued for hunters and campers.
