The National Weather Service has issued a forecast for snow and cold temperatures to impact areas of the northern Rockies of Montana and Idaho starting Wednesday evening through Saturday.
Yesterday, March 5, members of the National Weather Service were in Florence to view the runoff of snowmelt that is cascading through the streets and pooling throughout town.
In responding to the major blizzard event that has buried Missoula, the City of Missoula will be working 24 hours a day in an effort to keep the streets cleared of snow.
A winter weather advisory for the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys will virtually assure the area a white Christmas, as three to five inches of snow are expected between Friday afternoon December 20 and Saturday morning, December 21.
