Granite County authorities say two snowmobilers from Butte died in separate accidents in the Flint Range near Phillipsburg.

Sheriff Stephen Immenschuh sasy that 52-year-old Allan Voss died Saturday afternoon near Discovery Ski Area. The sheriff says he believes a medical condition caused Voss' death, and that an autopsy was to be conducted.

A 20-year-old Butte man died the next day when his snowmobile triggered an avalanche in that same area east of Red Lion.

Rescue crews from Georgetown Lake and Anaconda could not revive the man.

His name was not immediately released.

Immenschuh says unstable snow high in the mountains has created dangerous conditions and snowmobilers should exercise caution.
