Agreement to Resolve Dispute Between Missoula County Attorney and DOJ Announced

KGVO News received a message at about 4 p.m. Monday, that an agreement had been reached between the Missoula County Attorney's Office and the Department of Justice.

The announcement reads..

"Montana Attorney General Tim Fox, Missoula County Attorney Fred Van Valkenburg, the Missoula County Commissioners, Acting Assistant U.S. Attorney General Jocelyn Samuels, and U.S. Attorney for Montana Michael Cotter will announce negotiated agreements that resolve the ongoing dispute between the Missoula County Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the handling of sex assault cases."

Reached at his Missoula office, County Attorney Van Valkenburg said he would make his comments at Tuesday's news conference.
