Colorado Senator Gardner Stumps for Matt Rosendale in Missoula
Colorado Senator Cory Gardner was in Missoula on Tuesday afternoon in support of fellow Republican Matt Rosendale, who is running to replace the incumbent Democrat Jon Tester.
Gardner pointed out what Matt Rosendale would bring to the U.S. Senate that Jon Tester has not.
“I think he’s going to bring a lot more common sense, because he’s one that understands that Washington doesn’t know best,” said Gardner. “Matt Rosendale understands that we don’t need higher taxes or more regulations. He understands that we need to protect our Second Amendment rights and that we need strong border security, and Matt understands that we need strong Constitutionalists on the Supreme Court, for people who will not try to make the law but will defend that law, and that’s what’s missing now in that seat.”
Rosendale was asked about the attack ads being run by his opponent, and if they are affecting him on the campaign trail.
“I just don’t watch them, I really don’t,” said Rosendale. “I’ve discovered that the Weather Channel doesn’t have any political commercials, so I’m safe first thing in the morning, and then in the evening, I just really don’t watch it, in fact. My wife and I pray a lot.”
Rosendale emphasized again that he would fully support the Trump agenda if he is elected.
“When we start looking at the reductions in taxes and regulations, and trying to secure our borders, and confirmation of Supreme Court and lower court justices that are going to uphold the Constitution as opposed to trying to reinterpret it for some progressive agenda, and that’s what I’m going to bring to the table.”
Rosendale will continue his campaign stops with Senator Gardner for the rest of the week, and then Donald Trump, Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle will be covering the state with a bus tour over the weekend promoting Rosendale and fellow Republican Greg Gianforte.
