An investigation into the former Frenchtown Rural Fire District chief found several employees backed up a volunteer firefighter's claims that John Bibler sexually harassed and threatened her.

Jenny Ross accused Bibler of threatening her life and the lives of her children and dog in front of others at the department while twirling a bullet in his fingers. She claimed Bibler also made inappropriate sexual advances and comments.

A report by a private investigator released this week shows other firefighters verified those claims. Bibler denies them, but resigned after the fire district's board received the report in February.

Bibler says Ross did not comply with training requirements. She was suspended after making her complaint about Bibler in late 2010.

She filed a complaint with the Human Rights Bureau in May.
