Florence School Removing Snow from Roof
Some slumping ceiling tiles caused the Florence-Carlton school officials to evacuate the building housing kindergarten through 2nd grade classes Monday morning, March 11. No snow or water got into the building but a structural engineer was called in, and during the day, crews removed snow from the roof of the building. That building is closed again today, with the young kids having classes in the main building of the school. And all the other buildings at Florence-Carlton school are open. Parents can drop off and pick up their children on Long Avenue.
The evacuation yesterday was done as a safety precaution, especially with reports of other snow-heavy roofs collapsing elsewhere in Montana.
