Hamilton’s Annual ‘Daly Days’ Will Fill the Town
The weekend of July 28-29 is loaded and ready to go in Hamilton - with a car show, a pancake breakfast, a free street dance, wiener dog races, a musical chair contest, lots of sales, lots of great food, a farmers market, the annual brewfest and a collection of class reunions. Whew!
The fun is centered around the annual "Daly Days" celebration, organized by the Hamilton Downtown Association.
All day Friday, the downtown area will have sidewalk sales and there will be numerous vendors with some great food choices and more.
Jerry Wessels Les Schwab "Daly Days Car Show" drives around the valley all day Friday with a "high stakes" poker run. The winners with the best poker hands will win some hefty cash prizes. Those winners will be announced at ...
...The Daly Days Friday Night Street Dance. Andrea Harsell and her band start at 7 p.m. for the free public dance. There will be adult beverages and some food for sale, too. The dancing will be on the third block of Main Street until 11 p.m.
Saturday, as the classic cars and hot rods come in and park in the Daly Days Car Show on the first block of Main, the Kiwanis Club will be serving up pancakes and more with their annual Breakfast under the Bell McCall canopy at 3rd and Main. Their fundraiser runs from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Main Street stage at 4th and Main will have the National Anthem at 9 a.m., followed by the Zumba demonstration. You can even join in!
Over on Bedford by the Ravalli County Museum, the weekly Farmers Market will be a happenin' place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 pm.
By the way, Saturday morning, you can enter your dachshund in the wiener dog race and you could enter yourself (if you're an adult) in the new Daly Days Musical Chairs event. Just register at the tent by the 4th and Main stage.
At 12 Noon, the little dogs will run their races. Competition is sometimes fierce and often funny. Come early for a good spot to watch!
We'll clear out the dogs and then start the "Daly Days Musical Chairs" event at the same Main and 4th Street location. It's for adults who would like to win a new recliner from Bitterroot Furniture. There's no entry fee, but you must sign up before the dog races begin.
During that time, the Bitterroot Chamber of Commerce volunteer crew will be setting up the 23rd Annual Bitterroot Brewfest over at the Farmers Market location. That fun starts at 3 p.m. with great music featuring Keegan Smith and the Fam and a whole bunch of great beers, including some ciders and wines. There will be food and as many people as you can squeeze onto the lawns of City Hall, the Ravalli County Museum, the Ravalli County Courthouse and Legion Park.
