‘Hot and Wet Summer for Western Montana’ Says Old Farmers Almanac

I know you are thinking that summer may never arrive. Here we are, nearly halfway through May, and some still haven't packed up their snow shovels. But, trust in the Old Farmers Alamanac, and summer will be here before you know it. Soon you will be hovering around the AC unit in your home or spraying yourself in the face with a water bottle, while you sit half-naked in front of a fan.

According to the Old Farmers Almanac, western Montana should expect "hot and rainy" weather for the 2022 summer.

On average, we’re predicting summer temperatures to be hotter than normal across most of the country, ranging from the Atlantic Corridor south to Florida, across to the West Coast, and almost everywhere in between. In most of the country, look forward to near- or above-normal precipitation to accompany summer’s high temperatures.

It appears that western Montana may catch a break and land some much-needed moisture. Hopefully keeping fire season to a minimum. Unfortunately for everything east of the divide, it is going to be dry. Which is just going to add to the already drought-stricken portion of Montana and the Dakotas.

Summer is just a little over a month away with the summer solstice taking place on June 21. The Old Farmers Almanac is known to be fairly accurate. So let's hope that if it has to be hotter than usual, we at least get moisture to accompany the temps. And hopefully some much-needed moisture for our friends in Central and Eastern Montana.
