The holidays are almost here, and we can already feel it in our pocketbook. Inflation has made everything more expensive. And that expense also changes EVERYTHING!

Just look at how much Halloween has changed in the past 100 years.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.

Walmart has announced that they plan to push back against inflation this holiday season. Starting November 1st they plan to discount the cost of Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

According to Fox Business

Walmart — which has over 4,600 stores in the U.S. — said that it is offering two Thanksgiving meal baskets that will cost even less this year than they did last year. One option will be for customers who like to cook from scratch, and the other will be for customers seeking more ready-to-bake options, according to the Arkansas-based retailer. Walmart did not disclose how much the baskets will cost but said it would include staples such as a turkey, priced at under $1 per pound, as well as ham, stuffing and pumpkin pie.

Picking up one of these baskets is also going to make things so much more convenient. You will have just about everything on your shopping list in one basket and it's ALL ON SALE! Just don't forget the Cool-Whip for the pumpkin pie.

Inflation is continuing to float around. It is increasing cost each and every day. Just this year, grocery prices jumped 0.1% month over month and are 2.4% higher than they were a year ago. Walmart promises to keep grocery prices low until December 26th, 2023. Which could really help with the holiday costs.
