Super Bowl LIX is happening on Sunday, February 8th in New Orleans, Louisiana. Many Montanans don't care as I found out earlier this week.

Montanas might care more if someone in the Big Game (TM) was from the Treasure State. Alas, there isn't a single player hailing from MT.

Who is the Super Bowl Athlete born closest to Montana?

It depends on what side of the state you're talking about. If we're looking at Western Montana then it's Philadelphia Eagle cornerback Kelee Ringo. The 2nd year cornerback was born in Tacoma, Washington, roughly 685 miles away from the Montana-Idaho border on I-90.

Ringo went on to play his college ball at the University of Georgia - go Dawgs.

If you reside in Western Montana the closest Montana-born Super Bowl athlete is Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert. Goedert was born in Britton, South Dakota and played 9-man high school football at Britton-Hecla High. From Britton to the North Dakota-Montana border is about 371 miles.

I thought Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Carson Wentz was the winner for closest Super Bowl athlete. Wentz grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, but after a quick Google search Wentz was born in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The more you know.

Do you know where Patrick Mahomes was born? Who cares. He's already taken over our lives as football fans.

Maybe next year we'll get a Montanan in the Super Bowl.
