The Trendy Chair You’ll Spot Everywhere in Missoula
Sometimes, Missoula feels a little bit like walking the halls of a high school.
You suddenly notice that everyone's wearing the same type of coat, carrying similar bags, or wearing the same shoes and you think, did I miss the memo? Is there a 'cool kids' group in Missoula?
Of course, I'm kidding. Missoula is big enough that I don't really think there's a clique that sets the fashion choices of the entire town, but I have noticed there are the same type of chairs showing up everywhere.

You see them on front porches or in yards, front or back, and most often you see them in pairs. They're usually in bright colors, too. Do you know which ones I'm taking about yet?
Have You Seen Colorful Adirondack Chairs All Around Missoula?
The chairs look exactly like the ones above, except they come in all different colors. I asked my coworkers about this and they all nodded in agreement. One coworker admitted to having the chairs in red and full disclosure: I have a pair of chairs in blue too!
What's a bit surprising is that we all seem to have the exact same chairs. It's not just that Missoulians like Adirondack chairs. It's that they're all the same plastic chair with the back that has a small curve for your spine. They were selling the chairs at Ace Hardware this summer, at least that's where I got mine, and it seems like everyone bought a pair.
I sort of appreciate the trend because almost all the chairs I've seen are bright green, red, or blue. I haven't seen any brown or black ones, even though I remember Ace Hardward was selling those colors too. There are pops of color on porches everywhere.
Do you have the chairs, too?
