Surprising Construction Signs I Haven’t Seen In Montana Yet

As I traveled to Canada recently, we did a lot of driving. We drove across Idaho, Washington and up into Canada. Between Montana and Western Canada there is a lot of construction going on before winter sets in. There were a couple construction signs that I found interesting that you don't see on signs in Montana construction zones.

Canadian Construction Signs Prove They Are Polite

Canadians have a reputation for being polite. I have always found this to be true. Even their road construction signs are polite. At the end of every road construction zone there was a sign that said "thank you". They thanked you for dealing with the construction. How very polite. You don't see those on Montana construction signs. It normally says "end of road work" and that's that. I think it would go a long way if we just added those two little words on our signs. You'll have to trust me that the sign below says "thank you". It was tough to get the picture as it was raining and we couldn't hold up traffic to get the shot.

Idaho Construction Sign I've Never Seen Before

There was another road construction sign that I saw in Idaho that I have never seen before. It wasn't a polite sign. It was a warning. It said "Do Not Follow Trucks Into Work Zone". I haven't ever seen that on a construction sign in Montana, yet. That doesn't mean there aren't any, just that I haven't seen one. Seeing a sign like this begs the question, how many times has that happened in order to get it put on a sign? Are drivers not paying enough attention? Are the construction zones not defined enough?

Will Montana See These Signs One Day

Maybe we will see these signs in Montana one day. I wouldn't mind seeing a "thank you" sign exiting our many construction zones, even if it is every once in a while. Maybe that would help Montana start to get a reputation for being polite.
