The past year has been exciting for some of Missoula's most well known restaurants. The Food Network's Guy Fieri brought his "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" program to the Garden City to highlight some of our favorite establishments.

One of the places Fieri visited on his trip was Biga Pizza. Bob Marshall, the owner of Biga, has appeared on the Food Network before with Guy Fieri on Fieri's "Guy's Grocery Games".

Daniel Matthews, who worked at Biga Pizza for the past six years, and his wife Megan, who worked off and on at the Burns Street Bistro for seven years, have opened a new Missoula restaurant called FSK. Which stands for fork, spoon and knife.

I had the privilege of talking with Megan about the restaurant and what they are offering the community. FSK will be offering weekday breakfast, lunch, and a social hour.

We'll be serving hamburgers and fried chicken sandwiches and poutines and kind of keeping it kind of bar friendly.

I am a huge fan of poutine, FSK is putting their twist on the dish with the addition of Italian beef as one of the options.

If you were a fan of the old Burns St. Bistro, Megan looks at FSK as a "Burns St. Bistro 2.0". They have hired some amazing chefs and have created a menu of classics that they are taking to another level.

For breakfast they are offering breakfast sandwiches and burritos as well as their house-made toast. Menu items include avocado toast with cottage cheese, a poached egg, with everything spice on house-made sourdough bread. They have banana bread toast with salted-caramel cream cheese, fresh bananas, maple syrup and macadamia nuts.

Two bakers fill the display case with scones, muffins and cookies, as well as house-made sourdough, focaccia, and they are working on gluten-free bread.

Their weekend brunch menu offers up different selections than their weekday breakfast menu. There are chilis, their Louisiana Benedict, and breakfast egg-rolls with a Cajun Hollandaise sauce that are available on the weekends.

Right now they are open Tuesday through Friday 7:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m., and weekends 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. As the season changes the hours may be adjusted.
