School time in Montana is underway. College and university students are moving in and settling into dorms, student housing, or their apartments.

School has enough distractions as it is, but when you have a beautiful place to live, it can make it even more difficult. At least it was for me. When you look out the window and see a mountain covered in snow, it’s not easy to keep your head down and finish your homework.

Montana has its share of beautiful places to live and go to school. It may be hard to choose the “most beautiful” college city in the state, but Love Exploring has done just that.

Montana only has two university main campuses, but we have multiple schools affiliated with Montana State and the University of Montana systems through the state. We also have some really beautiful community college towns.

Where the Ranking Comes From

Love Exploring has declared Missoula, and the University of Montana as the most beautiful college town in Montana.

It really is hard to argue about their ranking. Missoula is a beautiful city. The University of Montana campus can be gorgeous, especially in the fall.

Rivalry and the Brawl of the Wild

This ranking may also add fuel to the fire of one of the biggest school and football rivalries in the state, the Brawl of the Wild. Every year it alternates between being played in Bozeman and Missoula. From now on, every time the game is played in Missoula, it doesn't matter who wins, it will be played in the most beautiful college town in the state.
