It is so great to see the generosity and the giving that happens during the holidays in Montana. We recently witnessed first hand the amazing generosity of Montanans helping friends and neighbors with our annual "Guerrilla Turkey Drive" and our annual "KYSSMas For Kids" fundraisers.

Operation Warm

Missoula's Franklin School was recently just gifted almost 300 new coats for the students from FedEx and Operation Warm. I spoke with Tyler Christensen, Communication Specialist from the Missoula County Public Schools about the gift to Franklin School, she said,

It gifted almost 300 coats, which meant every single student at Franklin had the opportunity to pick out a coat for themselves if they wanted one, and we helped them get into the right size and they got choose their color and style. It was just a wonderful day.

The Missoula FedEx ground crew helped to spearhead the process to get the coats for the students. Through the Operation Warm foundation, Franklin School was able to get the coats they needed. The foundation collects money for coats and for shoes for kids nationwide.

With the generous help of volunteers throughout the day, the kids were able to get the jackets they wanted. The day was all about the kids. Tyler continued,

The kids were so excited too, so many of them told me 'I love my coat, I'm going to keep it forever.

This is what community is about, something as simple as making sure kids have a warm coat for the winter. It may be a simple thing, but it isn't a small thing. It means so much to so many.
