As Montana prepares to say goodbye to 2023 and look ahead to 2024, it gives us an opportunity to look back at the year that was across the state. Google Trends has taken a look at a few of the things that Montanans have searched that the past year. Some of the trends make sense, but one in particular is very surprising.

Montana's Interest in Certain Topics

Taking a look at some of the most Googled phrases across Montana for 2023, according to Google here is what stood out.

  • Helena, Montana- Helena was the only place in country that had the "Heartfirst Tour" as a top trending search. That would be for the County musician Kelsea Ballerini's tour.

Most of the interesting searches across the state were music related. Missoula was a little bit different.

  • Missoula, Montana- Missoula's most interesting search for 2023 was not music related, it was about the royals. Missoula ranked 2nd across the entire country for Googling "Harry and Meghan". Yes, that would be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

With more music tours announcing shows for 2024, maybe we will see more live music being researched in Montana. Until then, Missoula, if you want to know anything about the royals, I have my finger on the pulse of everything having to do with Harry and Meghan.
