A trip to the lake is one of the best summer days you can have. Whether you're swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, drinking and floating on the water, or just sitting on the shore, lake days are unbeatable.

Montana ranks 11th in the number of lakes, with 3,389. Montana trails many midwestern states and Alaska—which is home to a staggering 3,000,000 lakes, according to World Population Review.

We may not have the most lakes, but we do have one of the clearest lakes in the States.

Flathead Lake Ranks In the Top 14 Clearest Lakes in the United States

What's up with calling it "THE" Flathead Lake? I've heard people call the area "the Flathead," I've heard people call the lake "Flathead Lake," but I've never heard the two combined into "The Flathead Lake."

Moving on, yes, Flathead Lake is beautifully clear. We got up there a couple of times last summer, and it is still as beautiful as ever.
