Montana Griz Football Coach Bobby Hauck Wins Prestigious Award

It is called the Get in the Game Impact Award. And it has nothing to do with the team's performance on the field.

But it does speak to how a coach has motivated and inspired his players to reach amazing heights in a humanitarian endeavor over the years. And one of the most prestigious football honors organizations in the nation has recognized the effort.

University of Montana Sports Information Director Eric Taber tells us that yesterday (Tuesday), Grizzly head football coach Bobby Hauck was selected by the Maxwell Football Club as the 2023 winner of the “Get in the Game Impact Award” presented by the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation. The award is given to the person or persons who have gone above and beyond to help save lives through their involvement with the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Get in the Game program.

Coach Hauck will be honored Friday, March 8, at the 87th Maxwell Football Club National Awards Gala at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia. He will be joined by numerous players, coaches and others involved in college football receiving various awards.

Since returning to UM in 2018, Coach Hauck and the Grizzlies have helped lead the charge in the fight against life-threatening blood cancers by participating in the National Marrow Donor Program’s “Be the Match” registry, which finds potential donors and connects them with patients in need. His players spearhead an annual donor registration drive that has helped register over 300 members of the UM campus community for the Be the Match Registry.
