Give Us a Woo! For a Missoula Holiday Hullabaloo Saturday
If you need a little Christmas right this very minute, there's a fun happening that you and your kids will love.
Disability Rights Montana receives calls nearly every day from families of people with disabilities requesting assistance regarding services. It's events like these that, while they might not move the mountains too far, they help keep them moving in the right direction. And in the spirit of the holidays, there's a fundraiser for Moving Mountains that is so joyous, it's named a Holiday Hullabaloo.
Come along and join the Moving Mountains Foundation for their second annual Holiday Hullabaloo on Saturday, November 23, at the Missoula Public Library's fourth floor from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Or maybe a bit later if the good times are rolling.
There will be cookie decorating, face painting, music, games, raffles and of course, a visit from Santa. There is no entry fee. Cookies, refreshments, raffle tickets and other items will be available to purchase to help support such a worthwhile cause.
Currently, many children in Western Montana are not living up to their full potential due to a lack of available services and resources. According to latest survey numbers, 21% of children with special health care needs had an unmet need for therapy, and 12% had an unmet need for mobility aids. This gap is greatly impacting these individuals’ quality of life well into adulthood and placing a significant long-term financial burden on families as well as the state of Montana.
Thanks to the dedicated team at Moving Mountains Foundation, there is help for the disabled populations in numerous Western Montana communities. We hope you can find it in your heart to support them and have a delightful Saturday in the process.
