Northern Lights Return To Montana For One Night Only
For one night only, I give you...
THE AURORA BOREALIS
The artist, also known as the Northern Lights, may be seen tonight (Thursday) in the Treasure State.
Northern Montana will be right on the cusp of seeing the lively night sky. Your best bet will be in the Northeast part of the state.
You're best off being in the Malta, Glasgow, Fort Peck, Wolf Point, Plentywood, Scobey area.

The Flathead area is on the fringe of the bright green ring, making the possibility low but not impossible.
The "view line," which "indicates the southern extent of where Aurora might be seen on the northern horizon," runs through Missoula, or very close to.
Obviously, you'll have to drive out of town to view the Northern Lights. The light pollution of Missoula hinders the ability to view the Lights.

Thursday will be your best at the Lights. Tomorrow night's (Friday) forecast's view line is well north of Missoula and the likelihood of seeing the Aurora barely scrapes the Montana/Canada border.

Last year, when the Northern Lights were VERY visible in Montana, we drove to St. Ignatius, or just a little outside of it. We hung out just off the road and it was beautiful.
