Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 18 felony complaints this week, which is two more than last week and right around the weekly average. According to County Attorney Matt Jennings, eight of those crimes involved some form of violence.

“Four of the offenses this week were family violence, that's 50% of the overall cases and we find that that's kind of the average throughout the year,” Jennings said. “About 50% of all violent crimes are those committed on other family members, but three were non-family violence and one was a sexual assault or an incest case.”

There were also two endangerment crimes, four property crimes, three drug crimes, and one administrative crime. Jennings said there were two cases this week that he wanted to highlight.

“We are looking for a suspect, Damon Piedalue, and he is wanted for attempted deliberate homicide,” Jennings said. “The Sheriff's Office has been seeking the help from the public to locate him and bring him into custody. I have no reason to believe that he's an overall danger to the public. The alleged offense was against his partner. Nonetheless, he is not in custody and he is being sought by law enforcement.”

If you see Piedalue, don’t engage him and call 911 immediately. Jennings said the other case he wanted to highlight was a human trafficking case.

“We had an incident over the weekend involving human trafficking and what appears to be some coercive behavior of forcing a woman to engage in some of those acts,” Jennings said. “In this instance, we also got some help from hotel and motel workers. A lot of facilities like that have also been training their employees to watch out for certain warning signs of people that are maybe being abused.”

Jennings added that they are getting a lot more of those reports and it's really helping to make sure that they can protect vulnerable people in our community.
