Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 28, 2026, a Missoula Police Department Officer conducted a traffic stop on a pedestrian, later identified as 33-year-old Verona Newrobe, for crossing a street illegally and disrupting the flow of traffic near the Poverello Center.

Newrobe was given a warning and the officer left the scene. Shortly after leaving the scene, dispatch advised that Newrobe had a no-bond warrant. The officer attempted to locate Newrobe outside the Poverello, but could not locate her.

Newrobe was located inside the Poverello and arrested on the warrant. During a search incident to arrest, the officer located a prescription bottle in Newrobe’s pocket containing roughly 102 capsules and rolled up toilet paper that was later found to have contained an additional seven white pills with U33 stamped on them.

According to court documents, the prescription bottle label noted the contents were Gabapentin, but the name on the prescription bottle was torn off. When asked about the prescription bottle, Newrobe advised that she picked up the prescription for a friend, but could not provide the name for her friend.

The officer was able to determine the 102 capsules were Gabapentin and the seven white pills were Lorazepam. Newrobe was arrested for the warrant and for possessing dangerous drugs, as Newrobe did not have a prescription for the pills.
