Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 26 criminal complaints this week, which is 16 more than last week and significantly higher than the weekly average. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, six of those were partner or family member assault cases.

“One involved an assault against a minor,” Pabst said. “The allegation was that an infant was injured with fairly serious injuries. We charged three violent crimes not involving family members. One was a violation of an order of protection, an assault on a peace officer, and an assault with a weapon. In that case, the defendant allegedly threatened many people with a weapon.”

In the property crimes category, Pabst said there were 11 new cases.

“Five of those were theft cases, including several stolen vehicles,” Pabst said. “Four involved allegations of criminal mischief and two burglaries. We charged one felony DUI and two new drug cases. One was a meth case and the other was meth and suspected Fentanyl.”

In addition, Pabst said there were three new cases that fell into the administrative crimes category.

“There was a failure to register as a sex offender case and a tampering with or fabricating evidence case,” Pabst said. “In that case, the allegation was that the person submitted a false urinalysis for a probation officer. Evidently, there was purported urine in a bottle with a tube. The person was charged with tampering with evidence, which is a felony.”

Finally, Pabst said her office charged a man from South Dakota as a fugitive from justice for absconding from his probation there. Every Friday morning at 9:00 a.m., Pabst provides her weekly crime report during KGVO’s Talk Back show.
