Missoula Police Seek Help From Public in Locating Missing Woman

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 8, the Missoula Police Department announced they are still trying to find Ms. Eva Masin Prather. According to Public Information Officer Whitney Bennett, Eva went missing on December 30th. 

“Despite ongoing investigation and following multiple leads, no information has surfaced to indicate her current location or well-being,” Bennett said. “The MPD is actively exploring every avenue to bring resolution to this matter and appeals to the public for any information they have to offer. In the aftermath of the comprehensive search conducted on Saturday and the subsequent investigative efforts, there is still no breakthrough in the case.” 

Eva is a 5'4" white female with brown hair and blue eyes, weighing approximately 125 pounds. Her clothing is unknown, but it is believed she may not have been dressed appropriately for the weather.  

Bennett said MPD remains focused and dedicated to resolving this matter swiftly. 

“In this challenging time, the Missoula Police Department expresses deep appreciation to Ms. Prather's family and the collaborative efforts of numerous volunteers who have generously devoted their time and resources to assist the police in search operations,” Bennett said. “Their unwavering commitment and resilience in the face of adversity exemplify the strength of community solidarity. The Missoula Police Department acknowledges the invaluable role these individuals play in supporting the ongoing investigation.” 

If you have external surveillance cameras, please review footage from 6:00 pm on Friday, December 29th, to 10:00 am on Saturday, December 30th. Any potential sightings or activities during this time frame could be crucial to the investigation. Reference the map attached for the area being contacted. 

Residents are also urged to check their properties, including areas of stored gear, equipment, or other materials where someone might seek shelter or hide. 

The MPD encourages anyone with information regarding Eva's whereabouts to come forward and contact the non-emergency number at (406) 552-6300, referencing MPD case number 2023-56230. Bennett mentioned that every piece of information, no matter how small, is crucial in ensuring Eva's safe return.
