Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - In a telephone town hall meeting this week, Montana’s Eastern District Congressman Troy Downing called for complete transparency by demanding the release of all the Epstein files.

Congressman Troy Downing Calls for Transparency over Epstein Files

Downing began the town hall meeting, however, by praising the Family Tax Cuts Act.

“To the wins that we've secured for Montanans in our Working Family Tax cuts Act, the great work that my team and I are doing across the district to serve you in reflection on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks,” began Downing.

That being said, Downing then confirmed that Republicans are seeking justice for the victims of the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Downing said Republicans Seek Justice for Epstein's Victims

“First, I just want to set the record straight,” he said. “Republicans are on the side of truth and transparency when it comes to securing justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, (who committed) just horrible, horrible acts. We're on the side of truth and transparency. Last week, I voted for House Resolution 668 that directs the Oversight Committee to continue its ongoing investigation into Epstein and the federal government's involvement.”

Downing said his efforts have already led to the release of thousands of files.

Downing's Resolution Calls for Release of All Epstein Files

“This resolution calls for the release of all the DOJ (Department of Justice) documents related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell with a binding subpoena that has the force of law,” he said. “Already this has resulted in over 33,000 Epstein-related records being made public.”

Downing said he and his fellow Republicans are seeking justice for Epstein’s many victims.

He says Republicans Seek Justice for Epstein's Victims

“The bottom line is, nobody wants to see justice for Jeffrey Epstein victims more than the House Republican conference,” he said. “We have worked diligently and cast votes to that effect. While other politicians may grandstand and engage in political theater, I will continue to advocate for transparency and a process that leverages the maximum weight of the law while protecting the victims of these heinous crimes.”

Downing has proposed H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which requires the Department of Justice to publish (in a searchable and downloadable format) all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the DOJ's possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein.
