Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On April 14, 2025, at approximately 2:53 PM, a Missoula Police Department Officer was dispatched to the Johnson Street Shelter regarding a male, later identified as 33-year-old William Sirucek, who was there. The caller stated they were asked to call if they saw Sirucek, presumably due to an outstanding $25,000 warrant.

When the officer arrived, the staff pointed Sirucek out, and the officer walked over to where he was. Sirucek was standing by some of the beds and appeared to be nodding off while standing. The officer knows from her training and experience that this is a common action for a person who is under the influence of drugs.

The officer walked up to Sirucek, confirmed his identity, and placed him under arrest for his warrants. The officer grabbed Sirucek’s right wrist, and Sirucek placed his left hand into his front left pocket. The officer grabbed Sirucek’s left forearm and told him to remove his hand from his pocket.

Once he did, the officer could see Sirucek had some money in his hand, and the officer told him to drop it. Once Sirucek dropped the money, he again attempted to shove his hands into his pockets, and the officer repeatedly told him to stop. Because the officer did not know what Sirucek had in his pockets, or if the item he was reaching for could hurt her, the officer used a front trip, which caused them both to fall to the ground.

The officer kept hold of both of Sirucek’s wrists, which were now tucked under his body. The officer pulled Sirucek’s arms from under him, placed them behind his back, and then shifted her body weight off him so that she was kneeling next to him. Sirucek was then placed in handcuffs.

The officer looked over to where their interaction had started, and she observed a small baggie of methamphetamine on the ground. The officer realized this was what Sirucek was trying to grab out of his pocket. The officer walked over and picked up the methamphetamine and other items that had fallen. During a search incident to arrest, the officer located another baggie in Sirucek’s front left pocket that contained methamphetamine.

The officer transported Sirucek to the Missoula County Detention Center. Sirucek is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $25,000.
