Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 22, 2025, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office corporal was patrolling along Expressway. At approximately 3:10 a.m., the corporal observed a black GMC Acadia, which did not have a working headlight and was missing a front bumper. The corporal conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Butler Creek and Expressway and identified the driver as 33-year-old Tyler Huetter.

The corporal noted that Tyler immediately lit a cigarette, which the corporal knows, based on his training and experience, can be used to mask the odor of dangerous drugs. The corporal has had previous experiences with Tyler. The corporal confirmed Tyler was on probation and had three prior convictions for no insurance. Tyler handed the corporal his registration and stated he did not have his driver’s license with him and did not have insurance on the vehicle.

The corporal asked Tyler what he was on probation for, and Tyler stated possession of dangerous drugs and assault. The corporal asked Tyler if he had anything in the vehicle that the corporal should know about, and Tyler admitted he had some marijuana.

The corporal returned to his vehicle to issue the no insurance citation, and while doing so, also contacted the on-call probation officer, who stated Tyler had recently tested positive for meth and requested a search of Tyler and his vehicle on their behalf.

According to court documents, Tyler admitted to having some psychedelic mushrooms under the front passenger seat. Under the seat, the corporal found a Crown Royal bag with a zip-lock bag that contained the psychedelic mushrooms.
