Is This Legendary Montana Bar Closing After Almost 100 Years?
Montanans are a nostalgic bunch. We like what we like. From iconic restaurants to mom-and-pop shops, some places feel like they've always been part of the landscape. Over the years, they build loyal followings and, in many cases, become traditions for families and locals alike.
So when one of those long-standing spots announces it's closing its doors, it hits a little harder. It's not just a business, it's a piece of Montana.
The Legendary Grizzly Bar in Roscoe Is Closing Its Doors
It’s the end of an era—The Grizzly Bar in Roscoe, Montana has officially announced it’s closing.
Tucked at the base of the Beartooth Mountains, Roscoe is tiny... and we mean tiny. According to the census, only about 30 people live there. That’s exactly why The Grizzly Bar proudly sells its famous merch that reads: “Where the Hell is Roscoe?” Honestly, fair question.
The current owners, who’ve run the bar for the past 20 years, made the tough announcement via Facebook on Wednesday, July 2nd. The seasonal bar will close for good on August 31st.
Here’s a piece of what they shared in their heartfelt post:
"This decision was not made lightly. We are incredibly proud of the legacy we have built together—from first dates and anniversaries to late nights, celebrations, and get-togethers. Your loyalty and support have meant the world to us." - Grizzly Bar
