Great News for Montana Coal & High Wage Jobs in the State
More great news for Montana coal and high wage jobs in the state. This, after the US House passed legislation regarding the Miles City RMPA.
"It’s time for Congress to flip the switch on onerous energy regulation. Tonight, the House is taking up my bill to roll back Biden’s Miles City Field Office RMPA and unlock Montana coal production."
That's what Montana's Eastern District Congressman Troy Downing (R-MT02) posted Wednesday afternoon.
By Wednesday night, Montana's Western District Congressman and former Trump Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke (R-MT01) posted this good news:
"The House just passed our bill to overturn Biden’s reckless Miles City plan. This D.C. plan would have done irreparable harm to Montana’s economy and weakened our energy security if allowed to remain in place. Proud to work with @RepTroyDowning, @SteveDaines, and @TimSheehyMT to stop it."
As Congressman Downing pointed out, HJ Res. 104 "provides for congressional disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) of the Bureau of Land Management’s Miles City Field Office Resource Management Plan Amendment (RMPA)."
Effectively the Biden Administration had banned coal production in the entire Powder River basin, which is home to the world's cleanest burning coal.
Senators Tim Sheehy and Steve Daines (R-MT) also praised House passage of the bill.
Sen. Sheehy: “It’s past time to put an end to the radical environmentalist mandates that put our resource economy on life support. I’m glad to see this resolution pass the House as we fight to restore American energy dominance, lower prices, and protect Montana jobs.”
