Montana’s “King Kai” Retains His World Title at BKFC in Billings
Great Falls, Montana's own "King Kai" Stewart retained his world champion title belt fighting in his home state of Montana Saturday night. What a crowd at the Metra for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships (BKFC) in Billings.
I've been attending the Fusion Fight League events all year long practically since March, so there were several fighters making the leap from MMA to BKFC that I wanted to see- especially Corey Willis, the owner of Knockout Lifestyle in Billings. Corey has incredible power that finished his opponent very early on. And that what about the absolute beast from Bilings- Bryant Atcheson.
One of the best fights of the night was between two ladies: Dakota and Sammy. They fought in the under card shortly after 5 p.m. Dakota is King Kai Stewart's girlfriend. You can see him coaching her in the photo above. She had a very impressive fight. Dakota fought Sammy, a Grindhouse fighter from Billings. Our family got to meet Sammy when we all took part in a boxing class at the Adaptive Performance Center in Billings- she is tough. I couldn't believe how she was able to stay on her feet after some of those punches that were thrown by Dakota.
Here's what King Kai said after the fight, in a video posted by the BKFC to Instagram:
King Kai: "Man, I am so blessed and grateful. The emotions are crazy. I held up the four. Walked the ring with the four title symbol. I've won high school titles in the same building- Montana, Metra Park, First Interstate Bank Arena. And you know, it's good to be back. Instead of winning my fourth high school state wrestling title, I won my fourth BKFC world title. This is who I am, and you know, the world is my oyster. I can't wait to keep proving who the f*** I am."
