You have got to watch this trailer for "The Real Yellowstone" film that comes out soon. It highlights the real ranchers of Montana and the battle they face to hold on to their land.

Tom Opre is an outdoor filmmaker based in Montana's Flathead Valley. He and his wife are big supporters of hunting and the outdoor way of life. They're also big backers of Montana's ranchers and agricultural community.

Given the popularity of the TV series "Yellowstone," Opre told me that he wanted to produce a documentary focused on real ranchers and the battles they face.

Here are some snippets of soundbites from ranchers in the film:

We've been here in Montana since the mid 1800s...it's our history, it's our heritage, it's our family...The good old American spirit is still here.

I've got to watch the film, but the trailer gives us a good idea of what this is about, in part: Foreign-financed outfits like the American Prairie Reserve working to kick the ranchers off the land here in Montana. But it also looks like they cover the broader pressures on access to ranch land as well.

Here are some more snippets from the trailer:

Agriculture is what provides the economy for central Montana...What we're doing here is producing the cleanest food in the entire world, like you can taste the sunshine and the grass...without agriculture, the production of food, you cannot have a city, you cannot have any business, you cannot have a bank. It's the basis....When the American Prairie Reserve buys a place, I view it as a death in the community."
