Loyola student Payson Jacobson started a 5K just last year after learning about the death of a family friend who passed away due to heart related health problems. He was only 42-years-old. This year, she’s continuing with the race to raise awareness for heart health in Montana.

"It's in Potomac at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6," Jacobson said. "It's to raise awareness for heart health in Montana. The participants pay $25 to run and that money all goes to the Montana Heart Institute."

Jacobson said she started the heart race last year for an 8th grade school project and raised $2100. She wanted to continue the race again this year to continue promoting heart health awareness.

"If they want to sign up, they can go to our website at healthyheartrace.stinge.com," Jacobson said.

Check in for the race begins at 9 a.m. at the Potomac Community Center.
