Memorial Day Schedule for Hamilton and Corvallis
Memorial Day scheduled for Hamilton and Corvallis American Legion Posts.
Post 47, Hamilton:
8 a.m. - Ceremony at WWI doughboy statue at Ravalli County Museum.
After that, Post 47 will remember those lost at sea at the West Main Bridge with a ceremony. They will then meet at the G.A.R. Monument at Riverview Cemetery for a memorial. Then, it's off to Corvallis, where American Legion Post 47 will be on a float.
Post 91, Corvallis:
7 a.m. - Members will attend the breakfast at the Corvallis School lunchroom.
10 a.m. - The Post and Ladies Auxiliary host the 99th Corvallis Memorial Parade on Main Street and the Corvallis Cut-off Road. This year’s theme is “Celebrate the American Legion’s 100th Birthday."
12 Noon - At the Corvallis Cemetery, Post members will read the names of the over 500 veterans buried at the cemetery, south of town. Following that, the Post will float a wreath at the Woodside Cutoff Bridge.
Meanwhile, after the parade, at Corvallis High School lawn, a small carnival will be held. The SAAA Bitterroot Heavy Athletics will host a throwing competition on the corner of the Corvallis football field.
