Missoula Police responded to two assault cases on Tuesday night, January 19, both of which included unusual weapons.

"A call came in at about 6:15 in the evening to the 1400 block of West Broadway where officers were called to the report of a disturbance where one male actually struck another male with what was described as nunchucks," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "He then reportedly threatened another person."

The nunchuck attack was apparently a response to a dog bite incident, but Welsh said the dog bite did not seem to be severe. Animal control may investigate the dog bite at a later time. In the meantime, 49-year-old Deland Wood was arrested for two counts of assault with a weapon for hitting one male and threatening a female.

Sadly, the assaults didn't end there.

"A little while later at about 7:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Cooley Street, a 28-year-old woman was arrested after she cut a man's arm with a razor knife," Welsh said. "He suffered a pretty significant injury and required immediate surgery."

28-year-old Sierra Heikes was charged with one count of assault with a weapon for the razor knife attack.
