Missoula Man Charged with DUI and Felony Child Endangerment
46 year-old Shane Southwick is in the Missoula County Jail charged with DUI and felony child endangerment after being arrested late Sunday night.
Police spokesman Travis Welsh said 9-1-1 was notified that some was suspected of driving under the influence.
“Officers were alerted to the report of a possible drunk driver in the 500 block of South Caravan Street,” said Welsh. “Officers flooded the area but they were unable to locate the vehicle, however about 30 minutes later there was another call from the same residence of a disturbance involving the driver. Officers made contact with 46 year-old Shane Southwick and learned that he had taken the vehicle reported previously, and that he had taken a 13 year-old boy with him in the car at the time.”
Welsh said the investigation revealed that Southwick had been driving under the influence with the minor child in the car.
“He is in custody for DUI and felony criminal child endangerment, and will be seen in court on Monday afternoon.”
There was no bond amount listed for Southwick on the Missoula County Jail roster.
