Splash Montana officially opened its doors at 11:30 a.m. Friday. People waited in line to get in.

The water park includes a pond, lazy river, three three-story slides and a lap pool.

NBC Montana reports this year, Splash Montana is incorporating a new program, called a “ride a slide-athon." The program encourages children to be active and climb up the three-story slide.  Whoever slides the most throughout the summer will get prizes.

Kids we talked to were really excited come to Splash Montana.

"Swimming and having a good time with each other," said Leala.

"It's mostly the slides I guess, lazy river," said Dylan.

"Yeah, I agree with her, the lazy river is my favorite," said Kallie.

This is the 10th year Splash Montana is open.  The water park usually gets around 100,000 people visiting each year.
