Montana Budget And Policy Center Gets Grant

Officials with the Montana Budget and Policy Center in Helena say a $200,000 grant has been received to help pay for continued research and analysis of state economic, budget and tax policies. Executive Director Tara Veazey tells the Independent Record in a story published Saturday that the grant from the Northwest Area Foundation will allow the center to do the analysis work and also expand into other areas of importance.

Veazey says one of those other areas will be expanding its research into state policy decisions on American Indian reservations.

The grant is part of the Northwest Area Foundation's $2.25 million in grants that are part of an initiative to improve public policy and help workers build job skills.
