Montana Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines Divided on Iran Deal
Today, September 10, Montana Senator Steve Daines slammed Senate Democrats for preventing an up or down vote on the proposed Iran Nuclear deal. The democrats filibustered a proposed resolution to reject the Iran deal, and were successful, but just by two votes.
All of the Senate Republicans and four senate democrats were blocked in a procedural vote.
Senator Jon Tester is on the record for supporting the Iran nuclear deal, and proved that with his vote today. In the final tally, 60 votes were needed to override the filibuster, but the opposition only managed a final tally of 58 - 42.
Congressional leadership has promised to bring the issue back up for a vote soon.
