Matt's Place in Butte may be closed, but the historic building and perfectly preserved and decorated apartment upstairs are for sale.

This really might be the coolest and funkiest apartment the entire state of Montana has to offer. Period furniture, artwork, wallpaper, fixtures and knick-knacks line the rooms of the small rental. Incredibly bright colors and tons of gold accents adorn the walls.

Did you ever have a burger and a milkshake at Matt's Place? Matt's was quite well known, award winning, family-owned and historic. According to the old Matt's Place Facebook page:

Matt's Place Drive-In in Butte, Montana was one of the first drive-in restaurant in Montana. Matt's Place was a straightforward conversion of a house to serve customers in cars.

Established in 1930, its chief concession to the automobile is a tall curb to keep parking cars from hitting the building and a menu on the outside of the building, advertising curb service.

The interior retains its 1936 counter and 1950s lighting fixtures.
