Montana UFC Fighter to Face Top 10 Opponent at Upcoming Event
I've been reading a bunch of comments and watching people argue back and forth about it on Twitter. It's pretty crazy that one little leak on the internet can get everybody so fired up. Oh, I should probably clarify that it might not be the leak you immediately think of. It has nothing to do with the news of leaked Supreme Court documents about overturning Roe v Wade. I'm talking about a picture that shows the possible matchups for an upcoming UFC event in July that features a popular UFC fighter from Helena.
I saw a picture online that had some unofficial fights listed for the upcoming UFC 276 event in Las Vegas on July 2. One of the matchups on the card featured Helena's "Suga" Sean O'Malley. His 7-1 record in UFC (along with his knockouts and a bit of cockiness) has made him a favorite among a lot of fight fans. Of course, not everyone is going to love you. A lot of people have been clamoring to see O'Malley fight a little bit stiffer competition than he already has. And that's what it looks like he'll do if the rumored fight card proves to be true as his opponent is ranked #10 in the division.
As of now, the UFC has yet to officially make an announcement but numerous articles, including one from KPAX, say people close to the situation are confirming that verbal agreements are in place for the fight between O'Malley and Pedro Munhoz.
Though the fight has not officially been confirmed, it's slated to take place at UFC 276 on July 2 in Las Vegas and would be a bantamweight (135 pounds) fight. The fight will be O'Malley's first of 2022 after he fought three times in 2021.
We should get confirmation of the UFC 276 card soon. But if the rumored fight turns out to be true, it'll be another chance for Montana's Sean O'Malley to continue to impress if he can pull out a victory.
